A 30-year-old worker from Jharkhand, Jargis Ansari, was found murdered in a chair factory located in Bankra, Howrah, on the night of January 30. Jargis, who had been employed at the factory for approximately ten days, was discovered in a bloodied state. Police sources confirmed that the murder stemmed from a financial dispute between Jargis and his 20-year-old colleague, Foum Ansari.
According to police, the altercation began on the evening of January 30, when a disagreement over money escalated. Foum allegedly tied Jargis's hands and feet before attacking him with a sharp weapon. After the attack, Jargis was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but was declared dead by the doctors. Foum, who also sustained injuries during the confrontation, was initially treated at Howrah District Hospital. After receiving medical attention, he was released and detained by the Domjur police for further questioning.
The initial investigation suggests that Jargis had brought Foum to the chair factory in Mondalpada, Howrah, where both men worked together. The dispute over money, which had been brewing for some time, was identified as the likely cause of the violent altercation. The police sealed the factory premises and set up a police picket at the location to maintain law and order. Additionally, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed to ensure security in the area.
Authorities are also investigating whether anyone else was involved in the murder. The police report indicates that Foum Ansari has confessed to committing the crime. The investigation is ongoing, with the police working to determine all the details surrounding the incident, including any other potential motives or individuals connected to the crime.
